
Margaret Atwood
Margaret Atwood is an award-winning Canadian author, poet, and activist known for her powerful works of fiction that explore themes of gender, power, and the environment. Born in Ottawa in 1939, she gained global recognition with The Handmaid’s Tale (1985), later adapted into a hit TV series. Her other notable works include Oryx and Crake, The Testaments, and the MaddAddam trilogy. In the U.S., many of her books are published by Random House imprints such as Nan A. Talese/Doubleday and Anchor Books. A two-time Booker Prize winner and advocate for human rights and sustainability, Atwood remains one of the most influential literary voices of our time.
